  • The Tropical Coast: At the valley of the Guadalfeo river a microclimate is created due to the southern orientation toward the coast and the steep walls of the Azud de Velez canyon. This and the mineral water over the fertile lands are the origin of the mediterranean coast of Granada: The Tropical Coast.

Our excursion throughout the tropical coast takes off by descending the Azud de Velez, through Velez de Benaudalla, surrounded by torrential waterfalls, steep walls of rock, aqueducts, and tropical trees.

The crops of loquats turn into crops of mangoes, papayas, guavas and above all, in the final stretch, the custard apple gardens.

The first village to be visited is a small white village spread over a crag, a scarce few meters from the sea.

Its alcazaba (citadel) on the peak, its church, and small squares at different levels enjoy views of the tropical garden, the coast, the vantage points, the sugar-cane rum distillery...

Also, at its rear you can see the southern slope of Sierra Nevada, with its snowy peaks and the valleys of the rivers.

We offer possibilities to complete the whole day on the coast:

    • Day at the beach
    • Traditional foods "Dried octopus" and tropical fruits.
    • Almuñecar and its old quarter
    • Motril
This can also be completed with a tour through Nerja and/or Frigiliana adapting times to the distances and the visits.
